Nicole Kidman has said in an interview that her divorce from Tom Cruise came as a "major shock", and as a major shock to the readers, Kidman also said that she still loves Tom Cruise.

In an interview with Ladies' Home Journal, Kidman was asked about her divorce from the megastar Tom Cruise. ABC News carried portions of the interview, in which Nicole said "That was a major shock." Kidman went on to say "He was huge; still is. To me, he was just Tom, but to everybody else, he is huge. But he was lovely to me. And I loved him. I still love him."

Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise originally started dating while filming Days of Thunder, while Cruise was still married to Mimi Rogers. Cruise and Kidman would marry on December 24th, 1990. Cruise would file for a divorce, which would be finalized on August 8th, 2001. Kidman's interview with LHJ would be quoted by USA Today, where Kidman would say "always knew the rug was going to be taken out from underneath me at some stage. I didn't think it was going to happen in the way it happened. I had seen my mother battle breast cancer, so I had a fear of my health being jeopardized - that was really where I was thinking mine would come."

Nicole Kidman would go on to say "I knew I was going to get hit with something. But I think a divorce, and the demise of what your family is, is a little death in itself." Cruise and Kidman had adopted two children during their marriage. Their daughter Isabella is now 13 and their son Connor is now 11.

CBS News quoted Kidman as saying "I feel enormous love for whoever my children's birth parents are," Kidman says. "And if my children choose to go find them at some stage, I can't wait. Because _ it's the weirdest thing _ I actually feel (they're) very connected to us as a big, strange family, and whether they choose to search for them or not, who knows."

Since her 2001 divorce from Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman has been romantically linked to other celebrities. She was linked to Lenny Kravitz for some time and is now rumored to be engaged to country music star Keith Urban. People quoted Kidman as saying "I'm pretty careful about who I share my life with. I surround myself with truthful, kind people, most of whom are not in the business. It's the life I want to have when I'm an old woman with long, gray hair."

Nicole's ex-husband, Tom Cruise, has recently started a new family with fiancée Katie Holmes (Dawson's Creek, Batman Begins, Thank You for Smoking). Holmes and Cruise recently became proud parents when Holmes gave birth to their daughter, Suri (See Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Have Daughter, Suri). Cruise, meanwhile, has been doing press for his new movie, Mission: Impossible 3, which opened this weekend, taking in $48 million (see Mission: Impossible III Falls Short at Box Office).

Nicole Kidman, the Academy Award winning actress, has appeared in several movies since her start in 1983, in BMX Bandits. Some of her major roles include Days of Thunder, To Die For, Batman Forever, Eyes Wide Shut, Moulin Rouge, The Others and Cold Mountain. Most recently, Kidman has appeared in The Interpreter and Bewitched. Kidman just finished up work on Fur, which also features Robert Downey Jr. Nicole Kidman has upcoming roles in The Visiting and The Lady From Shanghai.
