Britney Spears sat down with NBC's Matt Lauer to give an emotional interview about her life, her marriage, her skills as a mother, and the paparazzi's constant harassment. The interview will be aired Thursday, June 15th on both the Today show at 7am, then again on Dateline at 9pm.

The interview that Matt Lauer did with pop icon Britney Spears took place at her home, and shed light on how the pop singer feels. One of the first things Britney did was dispel rumors about her reportedly rocky relationship with Kevin Federline. Despite rumors that she had signed preliminary divorce papers, The Boston Herald quoted part of the interview which seemed to indicate the opposite. Britney Spears called her marriage to Kevin Federline "awesome", though she called herself "an emotional wreck right now." Spears went on to say to fans that might be hoping for the demise of her marriage, "that's sad", because "I think everybody should be pro-love."

Britney Spears has come out and said that she feels the paparazzi "crossed the line a little bit" by showing Spears in her private moments. Specifically, MSNBC quoted Spears addressing the incident earlier in the year where she was photographed driving with baby Sean Preston Federline in her lap, and not in a baby seat. "I can't go anywhere without someone judging me...I did it with my dad. I'd sit on his lap and I drive. We're country." Spears would come out, defending her parenting ability. "I know I'm a good mom." When asked about the press challenging her competence as a mother, Spears told Lauer "They've crossed the line a little bit . . . they like to have the person they pick on, I feel like I'm a target.

As the interview progressed, Britney became more emotional as she was asked about the paparazzi. CBS News quoted Britney addressing the paparazzi as individuals, saying "You have a life. And if you don't, you have to realize that we're people and that we... just need privacy and we need our respect. And those are things that you have to have as a human being."

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were married on September 18th, 2004. They had their first child together, Sean Preston Federline, on September 14th, 2005. On May 10th, 2006, Spears confirmed her second pregnancy on the Late Show with David Letterman last month. Britney Spears is the best-selling female artist of the 2000s, having sold 85 million albums. Her first two albums Baby, One More Time and Oops! I Did It Again were both diamond-selling albums, meaning they sold more than 10 million copies in the United States. Britney's albums include Baby, One More Time, Oops! I Did It Again, Britney, In The Zone, Greatest Hits: My Prerogative and has appeared in movies such as The New Mickey Mouse Club, Crossroads and In The Pink. Britney is also expected to release a new album in November 2006, with a world tour tentatively scheduled for 2007. As for her rapper wannabe husband, Kevin Federline, he is expected to release his album, Playing With Fire, in August.
