By Mark Paridy
Thursday, June 15, 2006
Given all of the recent press surrounding Britney Spears, the popular singer has revealed that she is an emotional wreck and just wants some privacy and a break from all of the attention surrounding her marriage to Kevin Federline and her new baby.
Whether Britney Spears is being hounded about her
parenting skills, her
marriage to
Kevin Federline, or
rumors about her new
nanny, Britney is
looking for the press to cut her some slack. As Reuters
reports, the pop princess repeatedly broke down during
her interview with Matt Lauer of The Today Show
when the topic shifted to the paparazzi. In an excerpt
taken from the show, Britney Spears admitted to crying
on occasion over the constant hounding she has received
and had a message for all the paparazzi out there, "You
have to realize that we're people and that we need,
we just need privacy and we need our respect. And those
are things that you have to have as a human being."
According to People,
Britney Spears responded to Matt Lauer's question about
the paparazzi after the two looked at a few magazine
covers, "You know what? I need to create my own magazine…
I need to come up with my own and say the real deal."
As the interview moved on to the topic of her marriage
with Kevin
Federline, Lauer inquired about the recent
headlines that suggested Kevin was living in the basement.
Britney revealed that Kevin isn't living in the basement
and was quoted as saying, " He helps me. He has to.
I'm an emotional wreck right now. Not in a bad way -
just, you know, I'll start laughing hysterically, and
then I'll just start crying. It's my hormones, so it's
nice to have my husband there to keep me company."
The main issue that keeps popping up for the pregnant
singer are the photos of her with her son, Sean
Preston Federline, that depict the child
being driven in her without a car seat. In a transcript
of the Matt Lauer interview posted on
MSNBC, Britney
explains exactly what happened before that shot was
taken. "I went to Starbucks and I see a bunch of
photographers, and I'm scared and I wanna get outta
the situation, and my baby's crying. They're coming
up on the, you know, the sides of the car, which is
a scary situation for me. You know and they're banging
on the windows and that's not somethin' I want my baby
to, you know. So I get my baby [in] the car and I go
home. So I mean, I just feel like they're taking cheap
shots."
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were married on
September 18th, 2004. They had their first child together,
Sean Preston Federline, on September 14th, 2005. On
May 10th, 2006, Spears confirmed
her second pregnancy on the Late Show
with David Letterman last month. Britney Spears
is the best-selling female artist of the 2000s, having
sold 85 million albums. Her first two albums Baby,
One More Time and Oops! I Did It Again were
both diamond-selling albums, meaning they sold more
than 10 million copies in the United States. Britney's
albums include Baby, One More Time, Oops!
I Did It Again, Britney, In The Zone,
Greatest Hits: My Prerogative and has appeared
in movies such as The New Mickey Mouse Club,
Crossroads and In The Pink. Britney is
also expected to release a new album in November 2006,
with a world tour tentatively scheduled for 2007. As
for her rapper wannabe husband, Kevin Federline, he
is expected
to release his album, Playing With Fire,
in August.
