Nicole Kidman Pregnant?
By Steve Taylor
Friday, June 16, 2006
As actress Nicole Kidman prepares for her upcoming wedding to country
singer Keith Urban, unconfirmed reports are circulating around the web
that suggest the star of such movies as The Stepford Wives, The
Interpreter, Moulin Rouge, and Eyes Wide Shut may be pregnant.
Although Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are slated to
be married in Kidman’s hometown of Sydney
on June 25, rumors of Nicole Kidman’s apparent pregnancy
are largely based off of eyewitness accounts after a
recent sighting of Kidman leaving Yoga class, as the
Post Chronicle reveals,
"According to reports, the actress was seen in the
afternoon with quite a belly, Kidman usually has a tight
tummy, which sparked speculation that there may be baby
number three on the way." It appears that Nicole
Kidman's spokespeople could not be reached for comment
on the matter, and as the OnlineWire reports, oddsmakers
are having a field day in trying to predict whether
Nicole Kidman will confirm a pregnancy in the coming
weeks. According to the report,"... celebrity odds-makers
posted odds on Nicole Kidman's possible third pregnancy.
Odds are that Nicole Kidman is pregnant of her third
baby and she will make a public announcement by July
14th."
Although the validity of eyewitness reports in the
media isn't how children are conceived, Nicole Kidman
has publicly revealed her desire to have a child of
her own, The Daily Mail reveals
that the eyewitness in question recently recanted what
she saw to the Sydney
Morning Herald, "Nicole was going
to yoga around 5pm and her tummy was really hanging
out and pushing her pants down. She looked like she
had gained some weight in her belly area and in her
breasts."
In related news, actress Renee Zellweger has apparently
warned Nicole Kidman of possible impending doom in regard
to the upcoming wedding to Keith Urban. A friend of
Kidman's, Renee Zellweger was married to country star
Kenny Chesney and since both were busy in the limelight
with their careers, the hectic pace of work took an
adverse toll on their marriage. According to the Sydney Morning Herald,
"Zellweger is supposedly concerned that Urban is
a workaholic and may work as hard as Chesney."
Should we take this news as verbatim? Absolutely not,
but given the public's lust for all things celebrity,
it's fun to play the odds as long as no one gets
hurt.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised in Sydney, Australia,
Nicole Kidman made her American film debut in the stock
car film, Days of Thunder, where she met her former
husband and now megastar Tom Cruise, who was married
to actress Mimi Rogers at the time. After nearly a decade
of marriage, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman ended their
marriage in 2001. Since then, Nicole Kidman has gone
on to star in such films as The Hours with Meryl Streep
and Julianne Moore, The Human Stain with Anthony Hopkins,
Cold Mountain with Jude Law and Renee Zellweger, and
Bewitched with former Saturday Night Live cast member
Will Ferrell. Preproduction has recently begun on director
Wong Kar Wai's 1930s drama, The Lady from Shanghai,
in which Kidman plays a mysterious woman from Shanghai
who has an affair with a spy. The Lady from Shanghai
is tentatively slated for a 2008 release.
