Russell Crowe, the star of huge hits like Gladiator, Cinderella Man, and L.A. Confidential had a hit of his own on the homefront, as his wife Danielle Spencer gave birth to an eight pound baby boy this week. The actor himself broke the news on a Sydney radio station, 2UE, as reported by Sky News, "I have some more news for you, Charlie has a brother. Dani is great, mate, everybody is fine. The family is over there giving her big kisses and stuff. I am just gooing home to pick up Charlie to take him over to meet his new baby."

Superstar babies seem to be the in-thing for 2006 with the offspring of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Suri Cruise, and the child of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt garnering major headlines over the last few months. Now, Russell Crowe and Danielle Spencer can toss Tennyson Crowe, named after poet Alfred Lord Tennyson and nicknamed 'Tenny' for short, into the celebrity playpen. Manager Grant Vandenberg told Reuters, "Mother, father and baby are doing extremely well."

Russell Crowe has tried to play down incidents over the last few years that painted the actor is problematic or ill-tempered, like the misdemeanor charges he pleaded guilty to last November, regarding the infamous telephone meets hotel clerk head debacle. He's tried to become more of a family man and Tennyson Crowe is likely to help, along with brother Charlie Crowe. He's spoken about being a father and his children regularly, including telling Jay Leno on The Tonight Show earlier this year, as quoted on Monsters and Critics, "He knows where the baby is in Mommy's tummy and knows that he was a baby once and there's another baby coming along. And we said, 'Bubba, what do you want to call your brother?' and his first option was Pumpkinhead. But then the next day, he revised it and he changed it to Stinky."

The proud family, Russell Crowe, 42, Danielle Spencer, 35, Charlie Crowe, 2, and now Tenny 'Stinky' Crowe are doing well at Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital, where Danielle gave birth at 7:27am Friday morning.
