Lindsay Lohan Selling Acne Medication
By Mark Paridy
Tuesday, July 11, 2006
There are many different ways to get a squeaky clean image and Lindsay Lohan has decided to start with her face. The actress has a new gig and it isn't a movie, Lohan will be the new spokesperson for Proactiv Solution, an acne medication.
Before you snicker and roll your eyes the deal is apparently
worth $2 million, not bad for talking a little bit about
some pimple cream. According to Bosh
Lindsay Lohan isn't the first to sing the praises of
Proactiv and probably won't be the last. Lindsay
has already filmed a 2-minute commercial that will begin
airing this week on MTV, MTV2, E! and Style. Lohan's
not the only star who has sung Proavtic's praises. Previous
spokespeople for the brand include Jessica Simpson,
Kelly Clarkson, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Vanessa L. Williams,
Brooke Shields and Elle Macpherson. Here is an exerpt
of Lohan's pitch, "My skin, thanks to Proactiv, is
clear all the time. Proactiv heals acne, but the best
thing is that it's super gentle, so it works every day
like skin care. That's how I use it, and it works."
Is Lindsay Lohan going for a complete makeover? The
young star has taken flack over her appearance in the
past for being way too thin and has recently started
to fill out with curves in all the right places. In
a report from Life
Style Extra the actress admits that
she wants to be judged on more than her looks. The
deal comes weeks after Lohan - who turned 20 last week
- insisted she didn't just want to judged on her looks,
before telling Britain's GQ magazine that she is happy
to show off her curves. She was quoted as saying,
"It's my body. And I like my body. And I like my
breasts. And no, they're not fake." Lohan also reveals
that she likes certain photos that are taken of her,
"I think a woman's body is so much more sensual than
a man's. I'm not saying strip off all your clothes,
but there are certain photos I like people taking of
me, where I'm comfortable. As long as it's tasteful,
why not?"
Even though Lindsay Lohan will be sharing her acne
experiences, just like Diddy and Jessica Simpson, the
pay scale will be a little smaller. Contact
Music reports, The MEAN GIRLS star's
pay packet comes up short compared to other Proactiv
celebrity spokespeople including Combs, who received
$3 million (GBP1.7 million) to endorse the product and
Simpson, who received $2.5 million (GBP1.4 million),
according to Forbes magazine.
