Raven-Symone, star of That's So Raven and former Cosby Show granddaughter, is reportedly attached to star in the Walt Disney Pictures remake of Adventures in Babysitting.
As well as landing the "Babysitting" role, Reuters
reports that " Symone also has signed an acting
and producing deal with Disney that includes a guaranteed
pay or play on one movie, with an option for a second.
It is uncertain whether "Babysitting" will be part of
that deal."
RTE
reminisces about the original 1987Adventures in Babysitting
as being " the directorial debut of Chris Columbus
and starred Elisabeth Shue as a high school senior that
gets stuck with babysitting the Anderson kids."
The dull babysitting job quickly turn into a series
of misadventures when she gets a call from her friend
downtown who needs help.
Writers attached to the remake project are David Stern
and David Weiss. The producer of the original Adventures
in Babysitting, Lynda Obst, will return to produce
the remake. No director has been attached to the project.
The original movie spun off a short-lived TV series
after its release. The show, starring Jennifer Guthrie,
Joey Lawrence, Courtney Peldon, Penelope Ann Miller
and Brian Austin Green was cancelled soon after its
original launch.
Raven-Symone began working in commercials at age two.
After landing her role on The Cosby Show, which
she did for more than 3 years, Raven put out a CD called
Here's to New Dreams. After a stint on Hangin'
With Mr. Cooper, Raven has gone on to land roles
in such movies as Little Rascals, Dr. Dolittle,
Cheetah Girls, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal
Engagement, and Fat Albert. Along with her
role on That's So Raven, one of Disney Channel's
highest rated shows, Raven will also be in Cheetah
Girls 2 , That's So Raven: The Movie, and
Double Dutch.
