Actor Daniel Baldwin has been hospitalized with neck and back injuries after being involved in Los Angeles. Police reports indicate that Baldwin is in police custody and is facing charges after crashing his car on, Bundy Drive, a busy Los Angeles street on the west side of town.

Reuters reports that “Baldwin, 45, smashed his silver Ford Thunderbird into two parked cars after an officer saw him driving at more than 80 mph (128 kph) and weaving through traffic on bustling Bundy Drive on the city's west side, Los Angeles police spokesman Jason Lee said.”

Yahoo News quoted LAPD spokesperson Jason Lee as saying “The officer tried to catch up to the Thunderbird, lost sight of it momentarily and came up to a traffic collision where the T-bird had crashed into two parked vehicles. The Thunderbird pushed one of the vehicles about 20 feet, and that was a Hummer.”

It was initially reported that Daniel Baldwin was taken to the UCLA Medical Center after complaining of back and neck injuries. The Mercury News has reported that “UCLA Medical Center spokeswoman Rachel Champeau would only say no one named Daniel Baldwin had been admitted to the hospital.”

The Washington Post reported that LAPD spokesperson Jason Lee said Baldwin “would be detained on suspicion of reckless driving and driving with a suspended license. Lee said Baldwin could also face charges of driving under the influence if he were found to be intoxicated. There were no other injuries reported and Baldwin's female passenger, who was not identified by police, was not charged.”

Daniel Baldwin, 45, is the second oldest of the Baldwin brothers, William Baldwin, Stephen Baldwin and Alec Baldwin. Daniel Baldwin was a regular on Homicide: Life on the Street, from 1993-1995 as Det. Beau Felton. Baldwin’s wife, Isabella Hoffman, was also a regular on Homicide. Baldwin has also appeared in Car 54, Where Are You?, Vampires, Tunnel, Fall, Dynamite, Anonymous Rex and Our Fathers.

Daniel Baldwin has already had documented problems with drugs and the law. In 1994, Baldwin went through weeks of detox for a cocaine problem. In 1998, he was found and rushed to hospital in critical condition after a suspected drug overdose. Despite claims of being sober and clean, Daniel Baldwin had been spotted several times under the influence. Baldwin was arrested on April 22nd, and it was reported there was a substantial amount of cocaine at the scene of Baldwin’s arrest.
