Haley Joel Osment Hospitalized

The Oscar-nominated star of The Sixth Sense, Haley Joel Osment has been hospitalized after crashing his car early Thursday morning. According to the Associated Press, Haley Joel Osment lost control on his way home in Los Angeles at around 1am this morning. Haley Joel Osment's vehicle, a 1995 Saturn, hit a brick pillar and flipped over, according to Los Angeles County sheriff Lt. Greg Sisneros. After the crash, the 18 year-old Haley Joel Osment was talking and awake, but was taken to Huntington Hospital in Pasadena as a precaution. According to the AP, as reprinted by MSNBC, "Sisneros had no information on his condition, and an emergency-room receptionist said no one under that name was at the hospital."
Reuters had a few more details on what Lt. Greg
Sisneros had to say about the Haley Joel Osment crash,
quoting the officer as saying, "The collision caused
the vehicle to flip over onto its roof and come to rest
a short distance away." Sisneros added that Haley
Joel Osment looked "banged up and scraped up"
and, according to Reuters had not been wearing
a seatbelt.
Haley Joel Osment isn't the first actor this week hospitalized
after a car crash, as Daniel
Baldwin ran his Ford Thunderbird into a couple
of parked cars on Wednesday and had to be hospitalized.
Daniel Baldwin faces reckless driving and driving with
a suspended license charges. No such charges have been
announced against Haley Joel Osment.
Haley Joel Osment, who turned eighteen this past April,
has had a relatively quite career in the last few years,
not appearing in a film since 2003's Secondhand Lions,
but will make a return to the big screen in Home
of the Giants, which he just finished shooting and
might be released by the end of the year. In Home
of the Giants, Haley Joel Osment plays a high school
journalist caught in the middle of a state championship
basketball scandal. Haley Joel Osment has been acting
for two-thirds of his life, appearing in Mixed Nuts
with Steve Martin when he was only six, but it was 1999's
The Sixth Sense which propelled him to a new
level of fame and an Oscar nomination. After that role,
Haley Joel Osment went on to star with Kevin Spacey
in Pay It Forward and played the lead in Steven
Spielberg's A.I.: Artificial Intelligence.
