Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt: The Wax Edition
By Doug Pendrell
Wednesday, July 26, 2006
After only 8 weeks in the world, one of the most talked about babies in the wolrd, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, has gained an accolade normally reserved for Oscar winners and prominent world leaders. Madame Tussauds Wax Museum has immortalized Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's baby in a wax sculpture in the New York City exhibit.
The wax likeness of Shiloh will be revealed later today.
As E
Online reports, "The figure, complete
with her mother's 'signature pouty lips and delicate
features,' will be displayed in an 'African-themed nursery,'
where it will rest 'peacefully' in a woven basket, according
to the museum's description."
Standing proudly over the wax Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt
sculpture will be her proud parents, Brad and Angelina.
However, Shiloh's siblings, Maddox and Zaraha, did not
make the cut. Visitors to the museum will be able to
have their photo taken with the wax celebrities, for
a price. In recognition of the couple's work for charities,
Madame Tussauds has pledged to donate $1 of every photo
sold to UNICEF. People
quoted Madame Tussauds general manager, Janine DiGioacchino,
as saying "We are proud to follow Angelina's and
Brad's good example by donating to UNICEF - an organization
dedicated to preserving children's rights around the
world."
More fuel to the sibling rivalry, Life
Style Extra reports that Maddox Jolie-Pitt
has an accolade of his own. "Cambodian-born Maddox
has topped America's Life and Style magazine's poll
to find Hollywood's best looking child. The publication
described the Mohicaned youngster as a 'globetrotter',
pointing out he had already travelled to Egypt, Africa
and France and was not even five-years-old."
The wax embodiment of Brangelina's offspring comes
at a good time to deflect attention from another story
that popped up a recently. Star Magazine reportedly
quoted Brad Pitt's grandmother, Betty Rusell, as saying
"Brad promised his wife on their wedding day they'd
be together, and they didn't make it. He is a sensitive
soul who just wants to make sure he can keep his promise
this time around." The story also went on to say
that Brad Pitt won't marry Angelina Jolie until he feels
ready, which apparently won't happen for some time.
Angelina Jolie, the Academy Award winning actress who
has acted in movies such as Girl, Interrupted, has also
recently adopted two children. On March 10th, 2002,
Angelina adopted her first child, Maddox Chivan Jolie,
when he was 7 months old. Jolie met the child in a Cambodian
orphanage while filming Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. Then,
on July 5th, 2005, People magazine reported that Angelina
Jolie was attempting to adopt an Ethiopian girl that
had been orphaned, as her mother had died from AIDS.
After a woman claiming to be the baby's mother was proven
not to be, Jolie eventually gained custody of Zahara
Marley Jolie. On January 19th, 2006, both of Angelina
Jolie's babies were also adopted by Brad Pitt, giving
the children the surname Jolie-Pitt.
Angelina Jolie gave birth to Brad Pitt's child, Shiloh
Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, in Namibia on May 27th, 2006.
