Hot on the heels of the announcement that Elizabeth Hurley would be the spokesmodel for Jordache comes the news that actress Scarlett Johansson will do the same for Reebok. According to The Boston Globe, the gorgeous 21 year-old actress Scarlett Johansson appeared at the Canton headquarters of Reebok yesterday to announce that she would be the face of the new collection, a "fashion-forward, athletic-inspired" footwear and apparel line. Scarlett Johansson will be in New York City today to make the same announcement about what the company is calling "Scarlett Hearts Rbk.". Clever. Scarlett Johansson told the press yesterday, as reported by The Boston Globe, "This is so surprising. I never expected all this. I promise my new line will be so cute, so place your orders now."

And when Scarlett Johansson describes the Reebok campaign as "her line", she's not exaggerating. Scarlett Johansson will actually design the line of shoes and footwear for Reebok, alongside appearing in the advertisement for them. Who needs Chuck Taylor's when you can wear Scarlett Johansson's? Scarlett Johansson released a statement about her relationship with Reebok and that statement was quoted by E Online, "Reebok has a rich heritage in developing and designing cutting-edge women's product which makes them an ideal company to partner with to launch Scarlett 'Hearts' Rbk. I am very enthusiastic about working with Reebok to design this line."

Scarlett Johansson's Reebok designs - Scarlett 'Hearts' Rbk. - will be available in stores next spring, accompanied by a massive, global advertising campaign featuring the actress. Why Scarlett Johansson? Reebok President and CEO Paul Harrington shed some light on the choice in a statement, quoted by E Online, "Scarlett embodies the pulse points of our brand--individuality, authenticity and a life lived to the fullest in perpetual motion. These characteristics make her the perfect fit for our new women's campaign."
