It looks as though Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's wedding may not be the wedding of the year after all. Reports have surfaced that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are in the planning stages of a late summer or early fall wedding.

The plans for the TomKat wedding made it to the media after a rumor began circling that the famous couple were planning to wed in secret this weekend. As Life Style Extra reports, "Rumours have been rife the couple were planning to wed in secret this weekend, but Tom's spokesman Paul Blach has quashed the claims. However, he has revealed the couple will tie the knot either later this summer or early autumn."

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes became engaged after Tom went to one knee on top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, back on June 17th, 2005. Since the rumors around the weekend wedding forced the hand of TomKat's publicist, Paul Bloch, Bloch made the statement "As far as I know, the plans are for late summer, maybe a bit later," according to Tonight.

The report said Bloch went on to talk spill more details. " Blach also said the couple plan to marry in private at one of Tom's homes. Despite plans for the nuptials going ahead, it is rumored that Katie's parents will not attend the event if the pair wed in a Scientology ceremony. Martin and Kathleen Holmes are both deeply devout Catholics and it has been reported that neither will accept their invitations because they do not approve of Tom's devotion to the bizarre sci-fi cult."

The report about the summer or fall wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes comes 102 days after the birth of Suri Cruise, which happened on April 18, 2006. Suri Cruise has yet to make her public appearance, but stars Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith got their first look at Suri. Sky ShowBiz quoted Jada Pinkett Smith as saying " She's one of the sweetest babies I've ever met in my life. She's an absolute beauty and she's Daddy's little girl. She's got a head full of black, beautiful hair."

27 year old Katie Holmes, star of such movies as Batman Begins, Thank You For Smoking and the TV series Dawson's Creek, has been taking time out of the public eye since having the couple's first child, Suri, back on April 18th. Holmes, once a devout Catholic, has converted to Cruise's religion of Scientology. Life Style Extra reports that Holmes plans to go back to work soon.

Tom Cruise, on the other hand, is a devout Scientologist, advocating the religion's benefits, and has converted his fiancée to the religion. Cruise, who has been the star of many previous Hollywood blockbusters, including War of the Worlds, Minority Report, Collateral, Jerry Maguire, War of the Worlds, The Last Samurai, Rain Man, Top Gun, A Few Good Men, Top Gun, Days of Thunder and the Mission: Impossible trilogy, has been married twice before, to Mimi Rogers (Lost in Space, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery) and Nicole Kidman (Cold Mountain, The Interpreter). Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman had adopted two children, Isabella and Connor, during their marriage. Cruise is also rumored to be going back to work, playing Billy Fiske in the movie, The Few. The Few is scheduled for release in 2008.
