Penelope Cruz Sees Suri Cruise

Even as the rest of the world wonders what she looks like and the tabloids and paparazzi still jockey for photos of her, Suri Cruise gets high praise from a friend of the Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes "family", movie star Penelope Cruz. The beautiful actress told reporters at Thursday's London red carpet premiere of her film, Volver, as reported by People Magazine, "I met Suri. She is really beautiful. She is really special. One of the most beautiful babies I have ever seen. And I am extremely happy for them. They are really happy and doing great."

The Penelope Cruz - Suri Cruise sighting comes on the heels of actress Jada Pinkett Smith reporting to People that she had spotted the offspring of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise herself - "She's one of the sweetest babies I've ever met in my life. She's an absolute beauty and she's Daddy's little girl."

The Suri Cruise sightings continue with a friend of Tom Cruise and a fellow Scientologist, Leah Remini, the star of The King of Queens, also telling People Magazine that Suri "looks like Tom and Katie. She's just beautiful."

So, why all the press about sightings of Suri Cruise? Perhaps it's because, unlike most celebrity babies and one in particular who's already been immortalized in wax (Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, the daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt), Suri Cruise has been hard to spot. Suri Cruise, daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, was born on April 18th, but has yet to be spotted by a photographer and, therefore, the American public. We can only go by the words of Suri Cruise's celebrity friends. According to E Online, when that first picture of Suri Cruise does finally sell, it could grab between $2 and $5 million, as long as it's before Suri Cruise enters kindergarten.

Some odd rumors about who has and hasn't seen Suri Cruise circulated in July, according to E Online with the entertainment site reporting that some say that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes took Suri Cruise to Steven Spielberg's office so that the great director and someone who's worked with Tom Cruise several times (Minority Report, War of the Worlds) could see Suri for himself.

Jada Pinkett Smith downplayed the absence of Suri Cruise sightings to People, telling the magazine, "She's beautiful and they're very happy and they need to be left alone."

Meanwhile, Penelope Cruz has a movie to promote, her new work with Pedro Almodovar, Volver and, on the red carpet, she briefly discussed her recent June break-up with her Sahara co-star Matthew McConaughey and that she's on vacation after having just wrapped Manolete with Adrien Brody. We may have no idea when you'll see Suri Cruise, but you can see Penelope Cruz in Volver when it opens in Los Angeles and New York on November 3rd of this year.
