Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes To Release Suri Cruise Photos

Wednesday, August 9, 2006
As it stands now, Suri Cruise is the most popular celebrity
baby to not have her picture released to the press.
After celebrities such as Matt Damon, Fred
Savage, Russell
Crowe, Adam Sandler and of course, Angelina
Jolie and Brad Pitt, have all had babies, Tom Cruise
and Katie Holmes might just be waiting out the "baby
buzz".
According to Life
Style Extra, Tom Cruise's spokesman, Arnold
Robinson, has come out to talk to the press, ever so
briefly. The statement comes out after off-and-on rumors
that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are reluctant to shot
Suri off to the world. Robinson was quoted as saying
to MSNBC's The Scoop, "Cruise hasn't been
reluctant at all. He and Katie will be making a decision
about when to release the photographs of Suri shortly."
As it stands now, only friends and family have been
allowed to see the now 4-month-old Suri Cruise. Suri
Cruise was born on April 18, 2006, at St. John's Medical
Center in Santa Monica, California. While both Cruise's
and Holmes's families have seen the child, other celebrities
to see Suri Cruise include Matrix actress Jada
Pinkett Smith, King of Queens star Leah Remini
(also a Scientologist), and Cruise's ex-girlfriend,
Penelope
Cruz. Cruz called Suri "one of the sweetest
babies I've ever met in my life. She's an absolute beauty
and she's Daddy's little girl."
The lack of Suri Cruise photos has led the press and
the public to speculation and wild rumors. Some have
claimed that Tom Cruise is worried Suri will be part
of a kidnapping plan, while other have gone with the
more blatant, and highly unlikely, rumor that Suri
Cruise doesn't exist. Either way, the moves
made by Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes seem to starkly
contrast those made by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
The Jolie-Pitt baby, Shiloh Nouvel, had her photos sold
to the press for $4 million, and was later immortalized
in wax.
27 year old Katie Holmes, star of such movies as Batman
Begins, Thank You For Smoking and the TV series Dawson's
Creek, has been taking time out of the public eye since
having the couple's first child, Suri, back on April
18th. Holmes, once a devout Catholic, has converted
to Cruise's religion of Scientology. While Katie Holmes
is planning on going back to work, it's not known if
that will happen before or after the couple's
marriage.
Tom Cruise, on the other hand, is a devout Scientologist,
advocating the religion's benefits, and has converted
his fiancée to the religion. Cruise, who has been the
star of many previous Hollywood blockbusters, including
War of the Worlds, Minority Report, Collateral, Jerry
Maguire, War of the Worlds, The Last Samurai, Rain Man,
Top Gun, A Few Good Men, Top Gun, Days of Thunder and
the Mission: Impossible trilogy, has been married twice
before, to Mimi Rogers (Lost in Space, Austin Powers:
International Man of Mystery) and Nicole Kidman (Cold
Mountain, The Interpreter). Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman
had adopted two children, Isabella and Connor, during
their marriage. Cruise is also rumored to be going back
to work, playing Billy Fiske in the movie, The Few.
The Few is scheduled for release in 2008.
