Apparently, like a meeting with royalty or some of the most powerful business people in the world, it might take a personalized invitation to lay your eyes on the offspring of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, the as-yet-unseen by public eyes Suri Cruise, at least until an upcoming issue of Vanity Fair. The Daily Star in Britain reported that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes had extended a personal invitation to Victoria and David Beckham to meet their daughter and the invitation didn't come without its own set of unusual ruled. As reported by The Daily Star, "David and Victoria are honored that Tom and Katie have asked them along. However they were a little shocked by the list of rules they'll have to follow. Apparently they can't take any photographic equipment, they're banned from touching Suri and they're not allowed to do any baby-talk around her. It will be very difficult for Victoria, because she just loves babies and is trying for a daughter with David at the moment."

Why the strict Suri Cruise viewing rules? Tom Cruise is an intense Scientologist and they don't believe in cooing over babies because it might adversely affect their development. And how did Victoria and David Beckham get invited to this very exclusive Suri Cruise club? According to All Headline News, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes befriended the Beckhams at a football match last year. Victoria Beckham has three children of her own with David Beckham and reportedly gave Katie Holmes pregnancy advice.

So, we can add Victoria Beckham and David Beckham to a short list of Suri Cruise visitors that includes Jada Pinkett Smith, Leah Remini, Penelope Cruz, and, possibly Will Smith and Steven Spielberg. Some odd rumors about who has and hasn't seen Suri Cruise circulated in July, according to E Online with the entertainment site reporting that some say that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes took Suri Cruise to Steven Spielberg's office so that the great director and someone who's worked with Tom Cruise several times (Minority Report, War of the Worlds) could see Suri for himself. Jada Pinkett Smith downplayed the absence of Suri Cruise sightings to People, telling the magazine, "She's beautiful and they're very happy and they need to be left alone."

Yesterday, word finally came down as to when we, the average public, will get to see Suri Cruise ourselves, when rumors circulated that Annie Leibovitz was taking photographs of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' daughter for an upcoming issue of Vanity Fair (of course, Annie Leibovitz won't be cooing to get Suri's attention for the camera). The Page Six section of The New York Post broke that rumor on Wednesday, reporting that the issue would be released in the fall. Vanity Fair, People, Us Weekly - the bidding for the first photos of Suri Cruise has been almost as heated as those for Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, the daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, with much of the press circulating about how we haven't seen Suri Cruise. Star Magazine even went as far as to put together a computer composite of what the almost four month old child might look like. Us Weekly's Janice Min put it perfectly, as quoted by The New York Times, "Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes get on the covers of magazines because they haven't shown their baby. So who's really getting played here? We're just pawns."
