Travis Barker Splits From Wife

The so-called MTV curse has struck again. First, it was Nick and Jessica who turned their life into a reality TV show. Now, Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler are divorcing after their reality show, “Meet the Barkers” aired on MTV.

Another celebrity marriage bit the dust as it was reported that Blink 182 drummer, Travis Barker, filed for divorce on Wednesday from his wife of less than two years, Shanna Moakler. The couple also had a reality TV show, “Meet the Barkers” on MTV, which followed their pampered lifestyle, just like Nick and Jessica’s show, “Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica”. According to Spin rumors of the split were confirmed back in July, when the couple put their Bel Air home up for sale. This was the same home in which the show was filmed.

In a related story, Shanna Moakler has posted a message on her MySpace blog outlining her mood over the collapse of her and Travis’ marriage. ”I can only say thank you to all those who have sent such touching letters, well wishes and prayers. I am very devastated and very much heartbroken over the demise of my marriage and for the upset of my family." The authenticity of the post was confirmed by Moakler’s publicist, according to to People.

Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler were married on October 30, 2004 and have two children together, 2-year-old Landon Barker and 8-month-old Alabama Barker. Shanna was actually engaged to boxer Oscar de la Hoya, but the pair split in 2000 and they share a 7 year old daughter, Atiana.
