Desperate Housewife, Marcia Cross is Pregnant

Marcia Cross, who plays Bree Van De Kamp on ABC's hit series Desperate Housewives, is reportedly pregnant with her first child.

 

As a Desperate Housewife, Marcia Cross is familiar with domestic duties Now, she will soon be playing the part of a real life mother, as she and her stock broker husband, Tom Mahoney, are expecting a baby. Marcia and Tom got married in June after dating for a year and now they are soon to be parents. Marcia Cross' representative confirmed to People that the baby is due in April.

 

With Marcia Cross now an expected mother, will this impact her role on Desperate Housewives? According to USA Today, the third season of Desperate Housewives is slated to wrap around the same time as the baby is due, but the producers are still undecided on whether to incorporate Marcia's pregnancy into her on screen character. While her character on Desperate Housewives may not become pregnant, both Marcia Cross and Bree Van De Kamp will share the bond of holy matrimony, as Bree is slated to wed her boyfriend, Orson, in the upcoming season.

 

While many of her Desperate Housewives co-stars didn't comment on the issue, Eva Longoria has expressed her excitement over Cross' pregnancy. ITV reports that Eva Longoria has sent her 44 year old co-star a congratulations and told the press, "I could not be more happy for her." "There is no greater blessing than a child. I'm so excited for her. She's wanted this for a long time so I'm glad it's happened."

 

Marcia Cross is best known for her roles as Dr. Kimberly Shaw on Melrose Place,and Bree Van De Kamp on Desperate Housewives. Her other TV appearances include, "Seinfeld", "Cheers", "Ally McBeal", "CSI", and "King of Queens". In 2005 and 2006, she was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award for her work on Desperate Housewives. Marcia did receive an SAG award in 2005 and 2006 for Outstanding Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
