Pop princess turned mom, Britney Spears has allegedly given birth to her second child and it is rumored to be another boy. Although the Spears camp hasn’t officially confirmed the news, it was reported that Britney had a cesarean birth late Monday night at an L.A. hospital.

Various outlets are buzzing today with the apparent news of Britney Spears giving birth to another son. MTV reports that a source close to the family has confirmed that Britney did indeed give birth on Monday, but declined to say what the sex of the child was. Even though MTV claimed to have received the news from a source close to Spears, other publications including The National Enquirer and US Weekly, have stated that the baby was a boy. Responding to the sex of Britney’s new child, her representative dismissed the news as speculation.

Without official confirmation from Britney Spears’ camp, the rampant reports of this newest addition to the Spears/Federline family is still up in the air. According to E Online, the story becomes even more interesting if you look back to earlier reports that the child was supposed to be a girl and that neither Spears or People Magazine, her favorite outlet for announcements, have come forward with any press releases or official statements.

Perhaps this story is completely false. Could the various tabloids and news outlets be jumping the gun? The Bosh actually reminds everyone about what happened last week when stories began to surface, reporting that Britney Spears had checked into a hospital to have a secret C-section birth. In a matter of hours the story was completely dismissed as X17 photographers followed Britney into a Taco Bell drive-thru in L.A., proving that she wasn’t in hospital as was falsely reported.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were married on September 18th, 2004. They had their first child together, Sean Preston Federline, on September 14th, 2005. On May 10th, 2006, Spears confirmed her second pregnancy on the Late Show with David Letterman. Britney Spears is the best-selling female artist of the 2000s, having sold 85 million albums. Her first two albums Baby, One More Time and Oops! I Did It Again were both diamond-selling albums, meaning they sold more than 10 million copies in the United States. Britney's albums include Baby, One More Time, Oops! I Did It Again, Britney, In The Zone, Greatest Hits: My Prerogative and has appeared in movies such as The New Mickey Mouse Club, Crossroads and In The Pink. Britney is also expected to release a new album in November 2006, but if the latest news surrounding the birth of her second child turn out to be true, this probably won’t happen until 2007.
