Britney Has Another Son
By Mark Paridy
Wednesday, September 13, 2006
When news surfaced yesterday about Britney Spears giving birth to
her second child, most outlets seemed to agree on the sex of the child
and the details surrounding the apparent pregnancy even though the
official Britney baby hype has been sketchy at best.
Although official confirmation from Britney Spears and Kevin
Federline on the arrival of their second child has yet to come down the pipe,
various sources claim that Britney did in fact have another boy. As
many Internet outlets and tabloids were clamoring for an official word on
the details of Britney’s new child, her favorite publication, People, was slow to jump on the story. The hesitation from
People raised suspicion, as most fans and Britney watchers are fully
aware that People has been the first to report on exclusive
stories surrounding the pop princess (God forbid if an outlet and its editors
ever take the time to actually confirm a story before jumping the gun!)
As of late, People has indeed joined the mix of sites reporting
the story, but they don’t seem to have an official statement either.
Instead of bringing to light any official word from Britney and Kevin, People reports that a source close to the family did confirm the
birth of a baby boy just before 2:00 am on Tuesday by way of
C-section.
The closest thing that Britney fans actually have to an official
statement is an article at Access Hollywood, which reveals apparent and second-hand (yet
close) confirmation from Britney’s father, Jamie Spears. Apparently,
granddad Spears told the outlet that he did see the baby and when Access
Hollywood executive producer, Rob Silverstein congratulated him, the
elder Spears remarked, “Thank you! We appreciate your concern.
Everything is great.”
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were married on September 18th,
2004. They had their first child together, Sean Preston Federline, on
September 14th, 2005. On
May 10th, 2006, Spears confirmed her second pregnancy on the Late Show
with David
Letterman. Britney Spears is the best-selling female artist of the
2000s, having sold 85 million albums.Did It Again were both diamond-selling
albums, meaning they sold more than 10 million copies in the United
States. Britney's albums include Baby, One More Time, Oops! I Did It
Again, Britney, In The Zone, Greatest
Hits: My Prerogative and has appeared in movies such as The New Mickey
Mouse Club, Crossroads and In The Pink. Britney is also expected to
release a new album
in November 2006, but if the latest news surrounding the birth of her
second child turn out to be true, this probably won’t happen until
2007.
