Britney Spears' Baby Rumored to be a Girl

Blogging sites and media outlets alike have been going crazy over the rumored pregnancy of Britney Spears. While there is some contention over if Britney is pregnant or not, most of the gossip floating around pertains to the gender of the baby, which is rumored to be a girl.
Rumors about Britney's second pregnancy first broke
last week when Britney Spears and husband Kevin Federline
were spotted in Las Vegas (see Britney
Spears 'Pregnant With Second Child'). Now,
In
Touch Magazine claims to have the exclusive
on her pregnancy, stating "Pregnant Britney Spears
has learned that her second child with husband Kevin
Federline will be the little girl she has wanted all
along."
The story goes on to say that "Sean Preston's little
sister is due in early October, shortly after his first
birthday, and already Britney is shopping for frilly,
little-girl clothes. A room in her Malibu mansion is
currently being converted into a second nursery, an
insider says, adding: 'She is going with pink.'"
The insider mentioned in the article had a final quote
of saying "She will never admit it, but she had
hoped that her first child was a girl. Now her family
will be complete.". There hasn't been any confirmation
of this officially. Rumors had floated around that Britney
Spears would be having a press conference at the Los
Angeles Convention Center, but CBS
News reported that "Spears' publicist
said in an exclusive e-mail to CBSNews.com that 'there
is no press conference." Rumors had flown that
the press conference could be for the announcement of
the couple' second child, or possibly to announce their
divorce, as National
Ledger reports.
Britney's pregnancy is not the only thing landing her
name in the news recently. Britney Spears has apparently
hired a babysitter, or a minder, to keep an eye on husband
Kevin Federline. MSNBC
has reported than an insider to Britney has said "The
last thing Britney wants to do is accompany Kevin on
all his club dates. That's why she hired a babysitter
- a person who will keep Kevin from misbehaving and
report directly back to her." Rumor has it that
one of Britney's most trusted security guards, ex-CIA
agent by the name of Richard, quit in response to all
of Kevin Federline's partying.
The quotes from MSNBC,
which references In Touch Magazine, say "Richard
is a straitlaced guy, and he was upset with Kevin's
behavior." Spears apparently managed to convince
Richard to return to the staff after promising to do
something about Kevin Federline's ways. The final quote
from the articles says that Kevin Federline was not
pleased about the arrangement, but that "Britney
told him it wasn't up for negotiation."
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were married on
September 18th, 2004. They had their first child together,
Sean Preston Federline, on September 14th, 2005. Kevin
Federline brought two children of his own, 3-year-old
Kori and 21-month-old Kaleb, from his relationship with
Shar Jackson. Britney Spears is the best-selling female
artists of the 2000s, having sold 85 million albums.
Her first two albums Baby, One More Time and
Oops! I Did It Again were both diamond-selling
albums, meaning they sold more than 10 million copies
in the United States. Britney's albums include Baby,
One More Time, Oops! I Did It Again, Britney,
In The Zone, Greatest Hits: My Prerogative
and has appeared in movies such as The New Mickey
Mouse Club, Crossroads and In The Pink.
Britney is also expected to release a new album in November
2006, with a world tour tentatively scheduled for 2007.
