Megastar Tom Cruise has announced to the world that he and fiancée Katie Holmes will wait until after she has given birth, and after the release of Mission: Impossible 3 to tie the knot.

Cruise told the German publication Bild that he and Katie Holmes will wed in the coming months, although no date has yet been set. Tom Cruise was also on the German TV show Wetten Dass…(I'll Bet…) doing press for Mission: Impossible 3 when he said the same thing. He also said he had two pilots on standby, ready to fly him back home in case Katie Holmes should go into labor. CNN reported that Cruise said "If Katie calls, I'm gone."

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have been engaged since June 17, 2005.

USA Today reported that Cruise said "'First the baby, then the film,' he was quoted as saying. 'Then, in summer, we want to get married. I won't let this woman get away.'"

Katie Holmes is expecting the couple's first child very soon. There has been growing debate over whether or not Holmes will abide by Tom Cruise's religion's rules while giving birth. Scientologists have been gathering outside Cruise and Holmes' home with six-foot tall birthing boards, reminding Katie to remain quiet during the delivery. One sign read "Be silent and make all physical movements slow and understandable," according to The New York Daily News The same news source reports that Katie Holmes may have chosen to give birth at a nearby Catholic hospital, which contains a state-of-the-art maternity ward.

27 year old Katie Holmes, star of such movies as Batman Begins, Thank You For Smoking and the TV series Dawson's Creek, has been taking time out of the public eye to have her first child. She has not, as yet, converted to Cruise's religion, Scientology, and the rumors continue to fly as to whether or not she will remain silent during birth.

Tom Cruise, on the other hand, is a devout Scientologist, and has been embroiled in a public dispute, on behalf of Scientology, with the Comedy Central series South Park (See 'South Park' Battles Scientology, Tom Cruise). Cruise, who has been the star of many previous Hollywood blockbusters, including War of the Worlds, Minority Report, Collateral, Jerry Maguire and the Mission: Impossible trilogy, has been married twice before, to Mimi Rogers (Lost in Space, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery) and Nicole Kidman (Cold Mountain, The Interpreter). Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman had adopted two children, Isabella and Connor, during their marriage.

Mission: Impossible 3 is set to release on May 5th. Cruise hopes Mission: Impossible 3 can triplicate the success of its predecessors, with Mission: Impossible grossing roughly $180 million at the box office and Mission: Impossible 2 pulling in around $215 million
