Kevin Federline to Release Debut Album
By Doug Pendrell
Wednesday, March 29, 2006
Kevin Federline, better known as Mr. Britney Spears, is planning to officially introduce himself into the music scene in August, when he is expected to release his debut album, Playing With Fire. The August date has been announced by a spokesperson for FYI Public Relations, which is promoting Kevin's album.
According to MSNBC,
K-Fed released a statement Tuesday, saying "The
inspiration and meaning behind the title, 'Playing With
Fire,' is self-explanatory." He went on to say
"I'm excited about this album and am looking forward
to continuing my promotional club tour in support of
it and seeing the firsthand reaction of my fans listening
to my songs for the first time. My album is sure to
set the dance floors across the world on fire!"
Despite Kevin Federline's unbridled optimism about
his new album, critics have slammed his first single,
"PopoZao", a Brazilian-groove style song, released through
Yahoo Music Unlimited earlier this year. Despite
that fact, "PopoZao" received 2 million hits in 8 days
after being released on the Internet. Federline has
also released a new track, "For Real", which fans can
download from Kevin Federline's personal MySpace site.
He has dedicated the track to "all the haters", as the
song's lyrics are about his unfavorable portrayal by
the media. Kevin also had a track called "K-Fed Freestyle"
posted on his MySpace site.
The media has struck back at Kevin Federline for his
"For Real" song and other criticisms of the media. In
the series premiere of VH1's Celebrity Eye
Candy, which will air on Friday, they will play
a rebuttal song they have created. As E
Online reports, the songs lyrics contain the lines
"Hey K-Fed, we're so sorry for the way we picked
on you…Hey K-Fed we're so sorry for creating a career
for you." The tune is sung to a Guns 'n' Roses-esque
metal ballad.
People
quoted an interview with K-Fed, where he said "Sure,
there'll be initial shock and awe, but they've already
said so much s--- about me, it can't get worse."
Federline was probably referring to an interview done
with Newsweek where he talked about the negative
press he received, citing stories about him hating his
children, smoking marijuana constantly, and treating
wife Britney Spears poorly.
Kevin Federline married Britney Spears on September
18th, 2004. Prior to marrying Britney Spears, K-Fed
had been in a relationship with Shar Jackson. Federline
and Jackson had 2 children together, a daughter, Kori,
and a son, Kaleb. Federline left Shar Jackson while
she was pregnant with Kaleb. Kaleb was born two months
before Federline married Britney. On September 14th,
2005, Federline and Spears had their first son, Sean
Preston Federline. (See Britney
