There's very little dispute over the top ten entries into this year's edition of FHM's Top 100 Sexiest Women in the World, the list is just as telling for the names not on it. (See FHM Votes Scarlett Johansson 'Sexiest Woman in the World')

This year's winner was Scarlett Johansson, the bombshell from The Island, with the runner up being last year's winner, Angelina Jolie (Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider). However, the winner of the honor of 'Sexiest Woman' from the year before, Britney Spears, failed to make the list. Last year, Britney had slipped from first to sixth on the list, but this year, she seems to have lost her footing altogether.

The 24 year old pop singer and pop icon seems to have fallen from the public eye. And, it's hard to associate Britney Spears' downturn with her pregnancy and recent motherhood, as mother Kate Beckinsdale made the list, as did the pregnant Angelina Jolie and the very pregnant Katie Holmes. Even Welsh singer Charlotte Church is further ahead in the list than Britney Spears.

According to Ireland On-Line, FHM editor Ross Brown said "couple of years ago, FHM readers couldn't get enough of Britney, and they unanimously agreed that she was by far the sexiest woman on the planet. It's hard to believe that she's currently outside the top 100 - I can only guess that a raft of less-than-flattering photographs and her general disappearance from our TVs and radios have left readers under the impression that Britney's lost her sex appeal." One of those less-than-flattering images includes the sculpture of a pregnant Britney Spears in the nude, giving birth (See Britney Spears Sculpture Causes Controversy)

The American version of FHM has already announced its winners in the publication's most recent edition. The British edition of FHM finished polling at midnight on April 10th, and Britney had been trailing the 100th spot by 20,000 votes, or about 20 spots. Other beautiful women to finish in FHM's Top Ten in the American edition include Jessica Alba, Jessica Simpson, Kiera Knightley, Halle Berry, Jenna McCarthy, tennis sensation Maria Sharapova, Carmen Electra, and Teri Hatcher.
