Breaking Dawn Expected to Top New Moon Totals

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 is now poised to make upward of $300 million and surpass the success of New Moon at the box office only one week after the latest Twilight Saga was released.

Contact Music, theorizes that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 is heading toward a domestic gross of $300 million by next week. Even though The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 had a $139.5 million opening to New Moon’s $142.9 million, Breaking Dawn is still expected to gross to $300 million domestically and surpass New Moon’s total of $296.6 million.

With such huge box office numbers at play, Breaking Dawn hasn’t even come close to such box office titans as Avatar, Titanic and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, which have grossed $2.7 billion, $1.8 billion and $1.3 billion respectively.

The final Twilight Saga movie, aptly titled Breaking Dawn Part 2, will open in theaters next November. Once the figures for all five movies of The Twilight Saga are tallied, the series as a whole will have grossed billions.
