American Psycho Remake at Lionsgate

7 years ago by Reg Seeton

Lionsgate will remake the 2000 film American Psycho, based on the 1991 novel by Bret Easton Ellis.

According to Variety, American Psycho, which originally starred Christian Bale in 2000, will be remade by Lionsgate. The new American Psycho will be written and directed by Noble Jones, who only has one credit under his filmmaking belt as the 2nd Unit Director on The Social Network. The project is in early development at Lionsgate after Jones pitched the script to the studio months ago.

American Psycho centers around the story of Patrick Bateman, a successful investment banker by day and homicidal maniac by night. The first American Psycho, written and directed by Mary Harron, was set during the 1980s Wall Street boom in New York City.

It’s a classic. It doesn’t need to be remade this soon & I really can’t see anyone going to see it. Re-release the original in theaters!
