7 years ago by Reg Seeton

Foreign news correspondent Christiane Amanpour will return to CNN in the new year after CNN Worldwide President Jim Walton announced the news on Tuesday.

CNN reports that veteran news correspondent Christiane Amanpour is set to return to the network in 2012. Christiane Amanpour has been synonymous with international reporting and with CNN for many years,” said Jim Walton in a statement. “We could not be happier that through this unique arrangement with ABC News, her experience and global perspective are returning to a nightly news broadcast for our international audience.”

The unique arrangement Walton referred to is the fact that Amanpour will remain on ABC as the global affairs anchor on This Week and begin reporting international news for CNN in the new year on CNN International.
