Writer Aaron Sorkin recently sat down for an interview for Rock Center with Brian Williams in which The Social Network screenwriter discusses his writing style.

On the HBO set of the new Aaron Sorkin series, The Newsroom, Rock Center correspondent Savannah Guthrie interviews Sorkin about the inspiration behind his writing style. In the newly released Rock Center preview, Guthrie walks around The Newsroom set with Aaron Sorkin as he demonstrates how he writes rapid fire dialogue while characters are on the move.

Also in the preview, Aaron Sorkin explains how his family used words around the dinner table and whether he can tell when he’s writing what Guthrie dubs “Sorkin-y” language.

Savannah Guthrie’s full report called “The Write Stuff” airs Thursday, June 21 at 10pm/9c on Rock Center with Brian Williams.
