Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong to Enter Rehab

Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong will enter rehab after a highly publicized tirade about the length of the band’s 30-minute set at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.

Following the iHeart event in Las Vegas, Green Day officially announced that Billie Joe would seek treatment in rehab for unspecified substance issues. A statement on Green Day’s official Facebook fan page read, “Billie Joe is seeking treatment for substance abuse. We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances.”

Armstrong recently filmed scenes for The Voice as a mentor on Christina Aguilera’s team and will still be featured on the show.

Green Day will release the first in a trio of albums called Uno!, Dos!, Tre! this Tuesday before kicking off a new tour in November.
