Natalie Portman is now being eyed to play Jackie Kennedy Onassis in the upcoming Noah Oppenheim penned biopic about the life of the former First Lady.

It appears that Thor and Black Swan actress Natalie Portman is being sought to play Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in Jackie, an upcoming Fox Searchlight biopic about the former U.S. First Lady, as reported by Deadline.

Although Fox Searchlight film has yet to confirm a director after the departure of Darren Aronofsky, it appears that solidifying Natalie Portman for the role of Jackie Kennedy will depend on who signs on to helm the drama.

Jackie will tell the story of how the former First lady dealt with the immediate aftermath of the assassination of husband and President John F. Kennedy. Prior to and following her marriage to shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis, Jackie Kennedy became American role model in fashion and a champion of preserving America’s cultural and artistic heritage.

If Fox Searchlight lands Natalie Portman for Jackie, Portman would reunite with the studio that produced Black Swan, which earned Portman an Oscar for Best Actress.

Do you think Natalie Portman would make a good Jackie O.?
