Revenge returned to ABC on Sunday night for the ninth episode of the season called “Revelations” in which everyone took part in a little blackmail when long-buried secrets were uncovered.

This week on Revenge, the major storyline of Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) took a back seat to the drama between supporting characters. It was all about “revelations” and blackmail beyond Emily’s second season quest for revenge.

On Sunday night, Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) and Conrad (Henry Czerny) lost their control on Grayson Global to Daniel (Joshua Bowman) while Nolan (Gabriel Mann) swallowed his pride and handed over his company to Daniel and Jack (Nick Wechsler) learned that his new business partners were interested in more than the bar.

It’s just business

As the Revenge drama unfolded, Daniel continued his pursuit of Grayson Global. In order to win over the board of directors, Daniel blackmailed Nolan into giving up his stake in NolCorp. It was a low blow, especially since he got former CFO, Marco (E.J. Bonilla), to reveal that Nolan had hidden $500 million from NolCorp in an offshore account. When Daniel threatened to expose the secret, Nolan had no choice but to hand over 51% of NolCorp and Grayson Global.

Have you ever really loved a woman?

Elsewhere, Victoria and Conrad realized they had one last chance to prevent Daniel from winning the vote when a video surfaced that proved Conrad’s affair with Ashley (Ashley Madekwe). Although she was angry with her husband for obvious reasons, Victoria used the video to blackmail Ashley.

In an effort to convince Salvador Grobet (Joaquim de Almeida) to vote for Conrad over Daniel, Victoria sent Ashley to suduce the Grayson board member. But Aiden (Barry Sloane) told Daniel, who burst into Grobet’s hotel room in stunning fashion and caught Ashley red-handed. Not only did Daniel end his relationship with Ashley but he threatened to send a picture of the secret couple to Grobet’s wife. Who knew that Daniel had such an evil streak?

As manipulated fate would have it, Daniel won the vote from Grayson Global before kicking Aiden out of a job as a potential director. In a more risky move, however, Daniel ignored his the advice of parents, that the Initiative would soon be out to kill him as the new head of Grayson.

Sins of the father

Jack’s happy life took a turn for the worse when he learned the Ryan brothers were actually out to avenge their father’s murder. In an unfortunate twist, the Ryan brothers actually thought that Jack’s father killed their dad. But it was Matt (Jonathan Adams), a friend of Jack’s father, who committed the murder and was subsequently beaten by the brothers and left for dead.

Although Jack was shocked by the news, it was even more surprising as a viewer to learn that Jack had a plastic-wrapped gun hidden in the bar’s floorboards. Was it the gun used in the murder?

With Aiden and Emily back together, and Ashley out of the way, Daniel set his sights on Emily to win her back.

As “Revelations” came to a close, Nolan convinced Padma (Dilshad Vadsaria) that he’d infiltrate Grayson Global and regain control of NolCorp. As for Victoria, she  reached out to Emily with a mysterious proposition. This could only end badly, right?
