Devastating 66th Emmy Award Snubs

At the 66th Emmy award nominations announcement, the outcome as expected. True Detective and Breaking Bad topped the nominations along with the HBO series Game of Thrones, but there were some glaring emmy award snubs, the most devastating of which are listed below:

Tatiana Maslany
Tatiana Maslany was snubbed yet again in the Best Actress category. The Canadian actress plays multiple characters on the popular BBC Drama Orphan Black. The show, despite being entertaining and interesting, was unable to get the love and appreciation it deserved.

Emmy Rossum
Emmy Rossum deserved at least an Emmy nomination for her work on Shameless because the series wised up and switched from the competitive Drama categories to the Comedy categories. But she too was snubbed by the Academy in the Best Comedy Actress category.

James Spader
James Spader, winner of three Emmy awards for his shows Boston Legal and The Practice, despite being on an interesting show The Blacklist, failed to score a nomination. It is widely regarded that Jeff Daniels took his spot in the category.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Despite the show’s Golden Globe wins, the star Andy Samberg and the show itself were left out in the 2014 nominations. Instead, another HBO comedy series Silicon Valley broke into the list of nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series.

The Good Wife
The drama categories were extremely competitive this season, but the outstanding show The Good Wife was snubbed from the Best Drama Series category. The stars of The Good Wife, Juliana Margulies and Josh Charles were disappointed by the Emmy snubs.

The Americans
The Americans, yet another amazing drama series, was shut out completely. Despite the second season being incredibly liked and appreciated by many and was ranked amongst the best of 2014, The Americans, didn’t score even a single nomination.

Despite these actors and shows putting so much effort towards earning an Emmy nomination, they got snubbed. Now they have to wait till next year for another shot at getting nominated.
