NBC Picks Up Songwriting Competition Show “Songland”

The Wrap reports, Adam Levine of “The Voice” is producing a new show. NBC has picked up 11 episodes of his songwriting competition series, “Songland.” Eurythmics co-founder Dave Stewart and Audrey Morrissey of “The Voice” are co-creators. Each episode will pit five songwriters against one another as they perform original songs. A panel of three producers and a major recording artist will judge their performances.

The top 3 will pair up with a producer and make a track in the studio. The recording artist will then me left to choose the single winner.

The first panel includes Charlie Push, Ryan Tedder, Ester Dean and Shane McAnally.

Without a doubt, ‘Songland’ will inspire music lovers and give us all a greater appreciation for the songs we love.”
